As we will very helpfully demonstrate throughout the pages of this website, writing about science and public policy are rather challenging undertakings. They are, at least, if you want the audience to understand and/or care about the information you’re presenting.
Combine science and policy into one piece, and the challenge compounds. Now make environmental issues the subject of your science/policy stew, and, well… good luck!
Matt Simon is one person who has it figured out. His pieces for Wired magazine are clear and simple to digest, yet he never seems to skimp on the underlying facts or concepts. It helps, too, that he often sprinkles bits of subtle humor throughout his pieces.
